Desperate Measures

He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."  Revelation 12:12

In the scripture above, John is talking about Satan's desperation in attacks against men and women of God because of his inevitable demise.

We have all seen actions taken in desperation whether by us or someone we know.  It's easier for someone to throw everything overboard, including the kitchen sink in order to save a sinking ship.  Oddly enough, whatever door God opens only he can close it and whatever door he closes only he can open.  The closer we get to what God has for us the more Satan is going to attempt to attack.  The attack is used to distract us to take our focus off the goal that God wants us to reach.  The enemy knows his windown is limited and therefore tries to take advantage of it.  We have to remember that the attack is just a "smoke screen."  The smoke screen is only because he can't stop what God has put in motion.  The only thing he can do is distract us.  If we fall for the distraction, we can get to tripped up and delay the end goal.  Our lack of focus actually gives the enemy pleasure.

So we must take heed and recognize the smoke screen so we can walk clear through it.  We must stand on whatever God has promised.
