It Was A Sweep...AEC Spelling Bee and Science Fair
G. E. Peters students scored first prize in each category of the science fair.

• Janae Allen (2nd grade) won in the K-2 grade group,
• Tenee Stevenson (4th Grade) won in the 3-5 grade group, and
• Colin Bruce, Jr. (6th grade) won in the 6-8 grade group.

The judges for the spelling bee, didn't know what to with the participants. They went through the whole book of spelling words up until the final 4! Next year, the words will have to be a little more challenging. Congratulations to all our participants and winners!

New School Board Officers - 2008-2009 School Year

On Monday, September 22nd at our School Board Meeting, we welcomed new members and elected officers to lead the business of our school for the 2008-2009 school year.

We welcome Angela Bonners (Brinklow SDA Church) as Home & School Leader. Superintendent J. P. Willis was present to facilitate the election process. New officers include: Angella Browne, School Board Chair, Marva McIntosh, Vice Chair, and Megan Wilson, Chaplin. Sandy Crank will continue to serve as Project Manager for the school's restoration.

Early Dismissal

There will be early dismissal (12:30 pm) on January 5th, 2009 (the first day of school) instead of First Wednesday on January 7th, 2009.

IMPORTANT - Calendar Changes

School will be closed on January 20th, 2009 for Inauguration Day.
